Barrows Green ¶
Barrows Green is a proposed housing development in Crewe. Substrakt worked with landscape architects Capita Lovejoy to create a concept for the identity to present their land plans. Crewe is historically a Victorian train station town so we used this as a starting point for the identity, to link the location to its roots. We developed abstract shapes to create forms deriving from both natural curves and geometric engineering, explored the linear elements from the rails and took colour influences from the proposed green areas and current hedgeways on the site. These were then applied across a 30pp landscape brochure, printed on 190gsm with duplexed cover, drilled and bound with nickel binding screws.
